HALEY MCFADDEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Grapevine, Texas broke a decard-old school record in the Chile Pepper Festival 5K this weekend.
McFadden's time of 17:41 is 76 seconds faster than her time from last year at the same race.
McFadden finished 22nd overall in a field of 381 runners and led Trinity to place 8th as a team out of 45.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kylee Garcia of Texas Lutheran University helped lead TLU to a perfect team score at the Southwest Texas Junior College Invitational and finished the 5K at 21:59. Junior Molly McCullough of Trinity University broke the previous school-record time set by Trinity head coach Emily Daum, her time of 17:49.2 is now the second-fastest in school history.
