C.J. ROBISON
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior on the men's
swimming team from Lubbock, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the
week ending February 10, 2013.
In addition to his success in the pool with the Tigers,
Robison is a three-time member of the SCAC
Academic Honor Roll (2010, 2011, 2012), and also earned national
academic recognition through CSCAA’s Team Scholar All-America
program. He has also led the Trinity team in GPA over several
semesters, and has scored consistently for the Tigers at the
conference meet– including helping Trinity to the SCAC
Championship in 2012.
Robison serves as a leader in several organizations outside of swimming. He is the Scholarship Chair for the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity, the men’s co-chair for the Trinity Fraternity and Sorority Council, the President of the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society, and the Philanthropy Chair for the Trinity Student Ambassadors. With each of these groups, he is able to perform community and volunteer service in many different ways.
Robison is majoring in both International Studies and Russian, minoring in History. He traveled to Russia as part of Trinity’s Study Abroad program, improving his abilities with the Russian language, and also keeping up his swimming skills with the St. Petersburg State University swim team. Robison earned academic recognition for his research in Chinese-Russian border relations from the Associated Colleges of the South, and is currently working on an honors thesis about the Russian Orthodoxy and native Tlingit clans of Southeast Alaska.
Following graduation, Robison plans to attend law school, with aspirations to become a Judge Advocate General (JAG) for the United States Army.
