ZACH LAMBERT
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from
Frisco, Texas has been named SCAC Basketball Player-of-the-Week for
games played Monday, January 28 through Sunday, February 3.
Lambert led Trinity to a pair of home wins in
SCAC play, defeating both Austin College and Centenary to remain in
first place in the conference.
Lambert averaged 21.5 points/game for the weekend, knocking down 63.2% (12-19) from the field and 93.3% (14-15) from the free throw line. He also nailed 5-8 (62.5%) from long distance, and added 4.5 rebounds/game and 3.5 steals/game in the two wins.
On Friday, Lambert hit 6-9 from the field on
his way to a game-high 23 points to lead the Tigers to a win over
Austin.
In his weekend finale, he posted 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists to ensure the weekend sweep. He now has seven games this season in which he has scored 20 or more points, but this weekend marked his first 20-point games since January 4.
