TYLER GAMMILL
OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Austin,
Texas, is named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played through
Tuesday, October 28.
Gammill earned his second individual win at the
Abilene Intercollegiate Tuesday, firing off a total score of 142,
two strokes ahead of the next golfer to lead the Pirates to a
fourth place team finish. Gamill’s other top finish came in
the team’s last competition at the Royal Lakes Fall
Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University.
Gammill marked a 68 (-3) through the first 18
holes, the lowest round of the tournament, before putting up a 74
(+3) through the second day. Gammill’s first round score ties
for his second-lowest of his career. His current career low is a 65
that he shot at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational to begin the
fall season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Adam
Peterson of Texas Lutheran University finished in
ninth place at the Abilene Intercollegiate this weekend after
marking a total score of 150 to help the Bulldogs to a sixth place
finish. After marking a 79 through the first day, Peterson shot an
even-par 71 through the final 18 holes to improve to ninth.
