MARQUIS BROWN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Refugio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Track Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, April 4th through Sunday April 10th.
At the strictly Division I meet at UT-San Antonio, Brown was the sole Division III competitor and won the 400 meters on a very windy day. He ran down an NCAA Divison I All-American to the line for the win. His time was 48.15 and he continues to hold the number 2 spot in NCAA Division III.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Taylor Piske of Trinity University ran a personal best of 15:12.7 in the 5k at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational to place 12th overall out of 67 athletes. Freshman Ryan Pace of Southwestern University ran a 19.55 at the University of Incarnate Word meet on Saturday.
