SEGUIN, Texas -- Schreiner jumped out to a three run lead and then had to fight back late to earn a 10-7 victory over Dallas in the first game of the 2017 SCAC Softball Tournament. Official Website l Bracket l Postgame Interview
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Schreiner had one more big inning than Dallas to pull out the victory. The Mountaineers scored three runs in the bottom of the first and five in the bottom of the sixth.
- Dallas scored four runs in the top of the fifth to take their first lead of the game at 7-5.
- Dallas out-hit Schreiner 11-9 but three costly errors allowed two unearned runs to score.
- Schreiner scored all five runs in the sixth inning after two were out.

NOTABLES
- This marked the third consecutive year that Schreiner and Dallas have met in the first round of the SCAC Tournament. With today's victory, Schreiner now holds the advantage in two of those three previous meetings.
- Ortiz, who picked up the win in relief, improved to 13-7 on the season.
- The home run by Acuna was her fifth of the season and ties for her for third in the conference in that category.
