SARA BOWEN OF
RHODES COLLEGE, a junior right-hander from
Nolensville, Tenn., has been selected the SCAC Softball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 1 through
Sunday, March 7.
Bowen had a 0.00 ERA and went 2-0 with a save in
the circle, leading the Lynx to a 4-0 record at the Rhodes College
Spring Classic. In total, she pitched 15 innings, giving up just 4
hits, a walk, and no earned runs while striking out 30 hitters.
Bowen pitched five innings of hitless softball in
relief against Millikin on Saturday, striking out eight as the Lynx
rallied for a 5-4 come from behind win, scoring three runs in the
bottom of the 7th. In the Lynx 5-4 come from behind win over Berry
on Saturday, Bowen struck out the side in the 7th
to earn her first save of the season.
On Sunday, Bowen went nine innings against Berry,
giving up just 4 hits and no earned runs, striking out 19 Berry
hitters, as the Lynx came through with thrilling 6-5 win in 9
innings.
