COLBIE DEVOST
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY a first-year right-hander
from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball
Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 14 through
Sunday, March 20.
Devost pitched in three of the team’s four games
this week, leading the Tigers to a 2-2 overall record against
UT-Dallas and the University of Dallas.
Devost earned both wins for the Tigers, finishing with a
2-1 record and an ERA of 1.31 in 16 innings pitched. She gave up
just three runs on eight hits, striking out 17 batters.
On Saturday, she started off the doubleheader against Dallas in
style, pitching Trinity’s fifth-ever perfect game to earn the
win. She struck out eight batters in the five-inning game; and if
that wasn’t enough, she came back in relief for game two and
shut down Dallas again, giving up no runs on just two hits over the
final four innings.
For the season, Devost leads Trinity
with a 4-7 record and an ERA of 3.11 in 69.2 innings. She has
struck out 68 batters – also leading the team – and has
two shutouts in her nine complete games.
