ALYSSA MAKI OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior second baseman/utility from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, April 2 through Sunday, April 8.

Maki batted .667 (10-15) as six of her 10 hits went for extra bases with one double, three triples amd two home runs. The Mountaineers swept four games from the University of the Dallas over the weekend to solidify its second-place standing in the conference. In addition to slugging 1.533 over the four games, she also scored eight runs and drove in 11.

For the season, Maki is batting .423 (second in the SCAC) with a league-leading 41 hits and 71 total bases. She has nine doubles (third in the SCAC), three triples (second in the SCAC), five home runs (third in the SCAC), 28 runs scored (third in the SCAC), and 26 runs batted in (fourth in the SCAC). She is also third in the league in on-base percentage (.472) and slugging percentage (.732).

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore utility Katie Bricarell of Southwestern had a huge fourth game for the Pirates going 3-for-3 with a SU tying record seven runs driven in. She had three homeruns on the weekend and three doubles while hitting .462. Sophomore catcher Hallie Smith of Centenary went 4-for-5 in a doubleheader sweep of Texas A&M Texarkana. She blasted her third home run of the season in the third inning of game one, and in game two, she scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on a squeeze play.
