LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Heading into the final weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball, the tournament field has been set after last weekend’s results with Southwestern claiming the final spot in the dance. Seeding has yet to be determined and will be sorted out this week as team wrap up regular season action and get prepared for Kerrville, Texas in less than two weeks’ time. 

Trinity (20-3, 15-1) has reached the 20-win plateau for the eighth consecutive season after earning conference road victories last weekend over Johnson & Wales (4-17, 4-12) on Friday, 82-38, and Colorado College, 60-56, on Saturday. In the win over CC, Trinity finished the game with just eight turnovers, marking the sixth time this season they have committed fewer than 10 turnovers in a game. The Tigers need just one win to wrap up their second consecutive and third outright SCAC regular season championship in the last four years. 
 
Austin College (20-3, 13-3) secured its third-straight 20-win season last weekend after earning home victories against Southwestern, 68-63, on Friday and Texas Lutheran, 68-65, on Saturday. Junior forward Ally Longaker led the way for the ‘Roos averaging 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and 87.5 percent from the line. 
 
St. Thomas (18-5, 13-3) defeated Centenary (1-22, 1-15), 97-36, last Friday in Shreveport to remain in a tie for second place in the SCAC standings. Senior Sheridan Hopkins led the way with a game-high 27 points and now has scored 25 or more in 10 games this season. Hopkins’ 27 points came on 12-of-18 shooting, including 3-for-5 from three-point range. 
 
Colorado College (14-9, 10-6) has reached double digit conference wins for the first time since the 2011-12 season after defeating Schreiner at home last Friday, 68-63. The CC Tigers are now just one win away from posting their highest single season win total since winning 16 back in the 2008-09 season. Junior McKenzee Gertz was outstanding, averaging 23 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, including posting her 10th double-double of the year with 22 points and 12 rebounds in the win over the Mountaineers. 
 
Schreiner (12-11, 10-6) bounced back from its loss to Colorado College to earn a SCAC weekend road split by defeating Johnson & Wales, 51-45, last Saturday. Yasmine Arogunjo came off the bench to lead the Mountaineers with 11 points in the win, while Sydney Williams finished with a game-high 14 rebounds. The 12 wins is currently tied for the third most regular season wins for the Mountaineers since joining the SCAC back in the 2013-14 season. 
 
Texas Lutheran (9-14, 7-9) split a pair of SCAC road contests over the weekend, with the win coming on Friday night against Dallas (3-20, 1-15), 68-47. The Bulldogs shot 47.4 percent (27-for-57) from the field in the win, the second-highest percentage for TLU all season. Morgan Rodriguez led the way with 16 points on the night. 
 
Southwestern (8-15, 6-10) which claimed the final spot in the SCAC Tournament over the weekend, earned its road split after the Pirates defeated Dallas, 68-50, on Saturday afternoon. Three starters finished the game in double figures, led by senior Cecily Woolfolk’s game-high 20. It was the eighth time this season and fifth time in the last eight games that Woolfolk has reached the 20-point plateau. 
 
The SCAC women’s basketball schedule concludes this week with the announcement of the tournament seeding coming at the conclusion of the final game on Sunday.
