Katrina Lieberman of Trinity University, a junior setter from Tustin, Calif., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 24th to Sunday September 30th.

Lieberman led No. 13 Trinity to a 3-0 record at this weekend’s SCAC Cross-Divisional, highlighted by a victory over second-ranked Colorado College on Friday night. Against CC, Lieberman tallied a career-best 60 assists and led the Trinity offense to a .260 hitting percentage to hand CC its first loss of the season. In total Lieberman averaged 11.22 assists/set and helped her team post a .285 team hitting percentage for the weekend, which is well above the season average of .251 for the team. So far  this season, Lieberman has averaged 10.54 assists/set for the Tigers, accounting for 738 total in 19 matches.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Freshman middle blocker Christine Royalty led Austin College with 2.47 kills-per-set and a .372 hitting percentage, while also averaging 1.16 blocks-per-set. On two occasions, Royalty notched 16 kills, and even notched a .714 hitting percentage in the Roos’ victory over Howard Payne. Sophomore setter Brittany Risner of Centenary recorded a career high of 42 assists and 17 digs for the first double-double of her career against LeTourneau on Friday. Junior setter Ashlee Ruehs led Johnson & Wales to its first SCAC victory, 3-1, on Friday over Texas Lutheran after recording 17 kills and posting a hitting percentage of .316. Junior middle blocker Marguerite Spaethling of Colorado College collected five service aces and six total blocks while averaging 3.17 kills-per-set for the Tigers over their three-game week. Alyssa Dooley, a frehsman outside hitter from Southwestern, put away 22 kills and posted an average of 4.40 kills-per-set in the Pirates’ five-set victory over Our Lady of the Lake. Sophomore middle blocker Cailey Young of Texas Lutheran recorded 36 kills and posted a .255 hitting percentage in conference play, highlighted by her performance against Dallas in which she boasted a .484 hitting percentage after tallying 15 kills.
