SCAC Women's Cross Country Recap - Week Five

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Three of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country squads took to the course last weekend.

Colorado College competed at the Charles Bowles Invitational where it placed tenth in the 5K event. The Tigers were led by senior Allysa Warling who finished 27th after completing the course in 18:03.1. The next runner to clock in for CC was junior Brier Youngfleish who placed 72nd with a time of 19:06.0. Colorado College also sent runners to the New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam. Though the Tigers did not score as a team, both runners posted top ten performances with Alexia Preston (19:54) and Sarah Pokelwaldt (20:11) placing fourth and eighth respectively. 

Johnson & Wales also competed at New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam but did not score as a team. For the Wildcats, junior Rachel Selgison came in at 13th overall with a time of 21:40. 

Texas Lutheran sent runners to the Concordia University Texas Invitational 6K and did not score as a team. The Bulldogs were paced by frehsman Hannah Martinez who crossed the line in 25:58.76 for 22nd place finish in the 6K event.  

The women's cross country season continues next weekend highlighted by Schreiner, Southwestern, Texas Lutheran and Trinity who are set to race at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational.
