MOLLY MCCULLOUGH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Portland, Oreg., has been named the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her run at the Principia College Cowbell Classic.
McCullough ran an impressive 22:38 in the 6k race, despite the warm conditions. She finished in 26th place out of 332 individuals.
McCullough helped her team place 6th out of 36 total teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Ashley Rynard of Texas Lutheran University took 33rd place at a large Division 1 meet at the University of South Florida. She finished the 5k in 19:50. Junior Leah Veldhuisen of Colorado College took 18th place out of 120 individuals at the Lewis and Clark Invitational 6k race. She helped the Tigers to a fourth place finish out of 11 schools. Freshman Sofia Garcia of Southwestern University continued to improve her 5k PR at the Southwestern University Invitational. Garcia placed 8th overall with her time at 21:01.
