SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Top-seeded Trinity University and
second-seeded Texas Lutheran University advanced to Sunday's
championship match of the 2014 SCAC Men's Tennis Tournament, which
is being contested on the campus of Trinity. Official

Trinity University defeated Schreiner University 5-0 in Saturday's
first semifinal match. With the win, the Trinity men advance to the
SCAC championship match for the 23rd consecutive year. Since
joining the SCAC in 1989, the Tigers have won 18 of their previous
22 visits to the conference title match. To watch a post-match

In the second semifinal, the Texas Lutheran men defeated Colorado
College, 5-3. TLU was up 4-3 but trailing in both the No. 3 and No.
6 singles match when the Bulldogs' Sanio Dizdarevic bounced back
from being down 3-2 in the third set to win 7-5 and clinch the
match and a trip to the SCAC title match. To watch a post-match

Texas Lutheran University 5, Colorado College 3
In Saturday morning's consolation match, Southwestern
University blanked a short-handed Centenary College squad, 5-0.
Starting out up 2-0 due to Centenary forfeiting at No. 3 doubles
and No. 6 singles, all it took was a sweep at No. 1 and No. 2
doubles and a 6-0, 6-0 sweept at No. 5 singles for the Pirates to

In the final match of the day, the fifth-place match
between Austin College and Southwestern University, the Pirates
made it a 2-0 day with a 5-0 sweep of the 'Roos. Southwestern swept
all three double points and then Egan Cornachione put the match
away with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. To watch a

SCAC championship play concludes on Sunday with the championship match between Trinity and Texas Lutheran and the third-place match between Colorado College and Schreiner University. Both matches are scheduled for an 8 a.m. CT start.
