DREW MOROUX OF
MILLSAPS COLLEGE, a sophomore
midfielder on the Majors' men's
soccer team, has been selected the SCAC Character &
Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week
ending November 8, 2009.
A native of Lafayette, La., Moroux epitomizes a
quality student-athlete, playing a huge role on the soccer field,
in the classroom and in the community.
Moroux has helped lead Millsaps to a 7-6-1 record
this season on defense, starting in 17 of 18 games for head coach
Lee Johnson. The Majors' double overtime tie against
Birmingham-Southern on Oct. 23 also marked the Majors' first
shutout this year. He also pitched in offensively with three
assists this season.
Off the field, Moroux is a youth volunteer at St.
Richard's Catholic Church and is also a volunteer leader for
Suburban Jackson Young Life. He was an Academic All-SCAC selection
as a freshman, and is one of two Millsaps nominees for ESPN The
Magazine Academic All-America honors this year.
