SCAC announces Spring 2009 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll
July 08, 2009SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,029 student-athletes to the 2009 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Wednesday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 948 student-athletes. -

LUCIE, Fla. - With a final-round 289, the Oglethorpe University men's golf team earned the school's first-ever national title, winning the the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship Saturday afternoon at the PGA Village. The Petrels' Olafur Loftsson won the individual national title with a playoff victory over University of La Verne's Mitchell Fedorka. -

The Stormy Petrels won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship April 26. In addition to the Oglethorpe men, Centre College sophomore Chris Morris qualified for the tournament as an individual. -

April 17, 2009ATLANTA, Ga. – The No. 4 ranked Oglethorpe University men's golf team won the Georgia Cup for the ninth consecutive year at a wind blown and rain soaked Stone Mountain Golf Club earlier this week. The Petrels secured the Cup with their third place finish in the Emory/Stone Mountain Spring Invitational. Oglethorpe men win Rhodes Fall Golf Classic
September 22, 2008TUNICA, Miss. - The Oglethorpe University men fired a tournament-record score of 7 under par 281 to win the Rhodes College Fall Collegiate Golf Classic at Tunica National Golf Resort - the site of the 2009 SCAC Golf Championships. Jeff Rein of Texas Lutheran University won medalist honors with a score of 140, just one shot better than Rhodes' Bill Bazzel.
