NADIA NETEK OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Buda, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 2 through Sunday, April 8.
Netek posted a complete game shutout and allowed just three hits as the Pirates defeated Trinity, 14-0, in game four of the series between the two SCAC rivals. In two appearances on the week, Netek pitched 7.0 innings and allowed just three hits and no earned runs.
For the season, Netek is 5-3 with four complete games, two shutouts and an ERA of 4.03. She has 21 strikeouts in 48.2 innings of work.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year pitcher Amanda Timmerman of Schreiner went 2-0 on the week with a pair of victories in the Mountaineers' four-game sweep of Dallas. She worked 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs with eight strikeouts and three walks.
