JAMIE TATE OF
HENDRIX COLLEGE, a sophomore
forward from Nashville, Tenn., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 3 through
Sunday, January 8.
Tate averaged 16.5 points, 25.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and
2.0 steals per game as the Warriors picked up a pair of road
conference wins. In Friday's 90-85 overtime win at Dallas,
Tate scored 23 points on 11-of-14 shooting and
grabbed 21 rebounds, tied for the second most in school history at
the time. She also had four assists and two steals. In
Sunday’s 68-37 victory at Austin, Tate broke
the 18-year old SCAC record, as well as the school record with 29
rebounds. She also netted 10 points for her eight consecutive
double-double. Tate also had three assists, two
steals and a block in the game.
