MEREDITH ERWIN OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a junior libero from Oakton, Va., has
been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, October 3 through Sunday, October 9.
Erwin enjoyed another outstanding week, leading
the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the SCAC West-East Divisional.
Erwin finished the weekend with 49 total digs, averaging 4.08 digs/set, and eight service aces (0.67/set). Both totals were far and away the most on the team for the four SCAC matches.
Sunday was her best day, leading the Tigers to a pair of 3-0 wins, scoring 15 digs and four aces against Sewanee, and 12 digs and three aces against Oglethorpe in the weekend finale.
Erwin has now had 10 or more kills for 11 consecutive matches. For the season, she leads Trinity in both digs and service aces, collecting 334 digs (3.84/set) and 26 service aces (0.30/set).
