SCAC #8in8 Tour - Day One (University of Dallas)

IRVING, Texas - The first stop on the 2015 #SCAC8in8 tour was Thursday in Irving, Texas on the campus of the University of Dallas. Photo Gallery

In this, the third year of the event, SCAC Assistant Commissioner Katie Mucci (@katiemucci) and Sports Information and Multimedia Assistant Blake Childers (@SCAC_BChilders) will visit each of the eight campuses of the conference over the course of 10 days.

This year's tour will be promoted via the conference's Twitter (@SCAC_Sports), Instagram (@SCAC_Sports) and Snapchat (scacsports) accounts. You can also follow the progress of the tour by using the hashtag #SCAC8in8.

Additionally, the SCAC will again enlist the assistance of a student-athlete representative from each campus to shoot video and take pictures, which will be posted on the conference's Instagram and YouTube accounts as well as an original video from the conference representatives.

Limited edition #SCAC8in8 prizes will be given out by student reps who will be asking SCAC- and institution-based trivia questions throughout the campus visit.

On Thursday, Blake and Katie received a campus tour from senior Emily Lataif, a student ambassador at the University of Dallas, which included a hike to the top of the Braniff Tower. The landmark feature of the campus, the Braniff Tower rises 187.5 feet in the air and is actually taller than the Statue of Liberty. Click here to view the video if it does not appear below.

After the campus tour, Blake and Katie settled in for Thursday's late afternoon men's soccer match against visiting Whitman College from Walla Walla, Washington. The Crusaders earned their first victory of the young 2015 season by a score of 2-1. (Game recap)

Two student-athletes from the hardwood appropriately helped tip off the 2015 #SCAC8in8 tour. Sophomore guard Manny Calton and junior guard Caitlyn Worry took us for a tour around campus and introduced everyone to a little taste of life at UD. Click here to view the video if it does not appear below.

Following a late night drive to Round Rock, Blake and Katie will be on the campus of Southwestern University on Friday to sample some local hot sauces and to watch the Pirates volleyball team take on the University of Texas-Dallas and Millsaps College.
