LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Senior running back Madison Ross of Austin College has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team for the second straight year.
Ross, a senior from Fort Worth, Texas, is one of only three Austin College football players to ever earn the Academic All-American honor and the first to earn the distinction twice. In addition to being named to the Academic All-District Team, Ross was selected to the All-SCAC First Team for the second straight year, earned two SCAC Player of the Week honors and earned an honorable mention All-SCAC as a punt returner. Ross led the conference with 1,014 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns while adding 15 receptions for 195 yards and three scores.
Ross, a business administration major with a 3.93 grade-point-average, is the only SCAC football player to be named an Academic All-American this year, and is one of just two running backs to earn first team honors for all of Division III.
The Academic All-America Team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). For the entire 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America team, click here.
