HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trinity claimed the SCAC title in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (Molly McCullough, 12:26.84), the pole vault (Mia Loseff, 10'9''), and the triple jump (Britney Sullivan, 37'1'', second straight year) en route to 72 total points.
- Katie Sandfort of Colorado College claimed the title in the 10K with a time of 40:53.86. Her teammate, Allysa Warling finished in second with a time of 40:54.22.
- Texas Lutheran University dominated the throws with SCAC titles in the hammer throw by Meredith Berger (121'11'') and the shot put by Akia Taplin (39'8.5'')
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Nkolika Nweke and Bailey Drury of Trinity came out of today's prelims as the top two qualifiers in the women's 100 meter dash, but there are three Texas Lutheran Bulldogs right behind them (Ashley Myers, Cortnee Priour and Amber Lancaster).
- Nweke came out of the prelims as the favorite to win the women's 200 meter dash with a strong prelim time of 25.81. Her teammate, Drury, is No. 2 with a 26.04.
- Asmeda Spalding-Aguirre will go for gold tomorrow as the top seed in the women's 400m hurdles after posting a prelim time of 1:06.88. Katie Groke of Trinity posted a time of 1:08.31 in prelims, but had a seed time of 1:05.39.
