LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III Top 25 poll for the eighth week of competition. After completing a perfect 14-0 season in conference play, Colorado College (29-2) jumped to the 7th spot, their highest ranking of the season. Southwestern University (26-3) slid from 11th to 12th after their only loss on the weekend to CC.
The Tigers became the first team to go 14-0 in conference and earn the regular-season championship since Southwestern in 2009. CC also locked up the #1 seed in the conference tournament. The Tigers will be back in action this weekend at the Johnson & Wales Tournament before the conference tournament the following weekend.
Southwestern University also had a strong weekend going 3-1 to lock up the #2 seed in the conference tournament. Their only loss was a 3-0 defeat by Colorado College. The Pirates will take on Mary Hardin-Baylor, 18th-ranked La Verne and 19th-ranked UT Dallas this weekend.
