ENFIELD, N.Y. -- After 18 holes at the 2016 NCAA Men's Golf Championship, Southwestern University's Devon Horne leads the six Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference participants with a score of 76 (+4). Day One Results
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps leads all teams with a first round mark of 286 (+2). The next closest team is 11 shots behind the Stags. Kethan Reddy of CMS leads the individuals, posting a 68 (-3) through the first 18 holes.
The Pirates currently sit in 32nd place with a first round team score of 322. Horne is in a tie for 38th place, while Phillip Stewart of Schreiner University is behind him in a tie for 52nd place, 76 (+5).
Southwestern's Tyler Gammill, the winner of the 2016 SCAC Championship, posted a first round makr of 79 (+7) for 92nd place, while Cody Hebert, Connor Murphy and Andrew DeHennis posted rounds of 83, 84 and 86, respectively.
Horne was one of just nine golfers in the field of 210 to post an eagle during round one, doign so on the par-5 10th hole.
The Pirates will switch to the par-71 Mendon Course for Wednesday's action, while Stewart will move to the par-72 Midvale Course.
