LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Week five of the SCAC football season saw two conference teams face off in a designated non-conference matchup as Southwestern pulled out an exciting 35-28 victory over Austin College.
The Pirates improved to 2-3 after the first victory against the 'Roos since 1950. Austin College fell to 3-2 after turning the ball over four times.
Texas Lutheran University improved to 4-1 after defeating Howard Payne with a final score of 49-20. The Bulldogs put up 504 yards of total offense behind Jekovan Holmes' three touchdown receptions and Trenton White who threw four touchdowns.
Trinity University dropped their first contest of the season with a 31-7 loss against undefeated Hardin Simmons. Both Trinity and Texas Lutheran sit atop the SCAC standings with 4-1 records.
