LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III Top 25 poll for the second week of competition. Colorado College jumped from 13th to 11th after a perfect 9-0 start to the season. Southwestern University (8-1) was tied with Coe College in last week's rankings, but now holds the spot outright after going 3-1 last weekend.
Southwestern swept Hardin-Simmons, LeTourneau and Howard Payne behind senior middle blocker, Olivia Drummond who hit .404 on the weekend and was an All-Tournament selection at Austin College. The Pirates only loss of the season came against East Texas Baptist (7-2) in five sets.
Colorado College has only dropped two sets in their perfect nine game run to open the season. The Tigers defeated Chapman University, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Bluffton University at the Colorado College Invitational.
Colorado College's Courtney Birkett and Sophie Merrifield were both named SCAC Players of the Week after helping CC win the Colorado College Invitational.
