MAGGIE DESPAIN
OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a junior defender from St.
Louis, Mo., has been selected as the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, October 24 through
Sunday, October 30.
DesPain played a central role in a pair of conference
shutouts over the weekend. In Friday’s 3-0 win against
Sewanee, she limited the Tigers to just two shots, neither of which
were on goal. DesPain also limited Centre to just
four shots on goal in the Warriors’ first ever program win
against the Colonels, a 4-0 victory on Sunday.
