CHRIS MORRIS OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a junior from Maysville, Ky., has been named SCAC Men's Golfer-of-the-Week for tournaments played through Tuesday, April 13.
Morris competed in the Emory University Spring Invitational, which took place at the Stone Mountain Golf Course in Atlanta, Ga. After two rounds of golf Morris and Peter Latimer, the number one NCAA Division III golfer in the country, from Guilford College were tied for first place.
The two players then competed in a one-hole playoff where
Morris would win the tournament.
Morris and Latimer each received medalist honor
for their effort on the course.
In the first round of play Morris shot a 71 and on
the second day he recorded a 73 for an overall score of 144.
Centre finished fifth overall at the Emory University Spring
Invitational with a score of 618, beating several top ranked
schools.
