Centre's Kieffer shines at 2011 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship

WINNECONNE, Wisc. - The Colorado College men placed 28th and the Centre College men were 31st at the 2011 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at run at the Lake Breeze Golf Course. Complete Men's Results

Individually, Centre sophomore John Kieffer finished 14th overall (out of 279 runners) in a time of 24:31.28 to earn all-America honors. Kieffer is just the seventh male in the SCAC era to earn all-America honors at the national meet.

Last weekend, the Colonel sophomore won the South/Southeast Regional individual title and became just the second Centre man to win an individual regional championship (Chase Wilson - 2008).

Colorado College was paced by senior Robby Caseria, who finished 55th overall in a time of 24:58.12.

Sewanee junior Clay Bond, who was running as an individual at the national meet, finished 192nd in a time of 25:54.68.

Top-ranked North Central College (Ill.) scored 110 points to earn its second title in three years and 14th overall. The Cardinals held off defending champion Haverford College (Pa.), which placed second with 172 points. Washington University (Mo.) took third in the 32-team meet with 206 points.
