SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Coach Jenny Breuer has resigned her position as the head coach of Trinity’s men’s and women’s cross country teams.

Coach Breuer has been the head cross country coach since 2000, and also previously served eight seasons as Trinity’s head coach in track & field from 2000-08. She led the Tiger men’s and women’s track & field teams to seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, and was a seven-time SCAC Coach of the Year during those years.

In cross country, Coach Breuer was named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South/Southeast Region Coach of the Year three times. She led the Tiger women’s team to the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championship in 2004 and 2008, and the team also went to the NCAA Championships both years.

In 2008, Breuer led Trinity’s women’s team to a sixth-place finish nationally, marking the best performance in school history. The Tiger women have had the team or individuals advance to Nationals each of the past six seasons. Trinity’s men’s and women’s teams have qualified for the NCAA Championships a total of 12 times under her guidance.

“Jenny has been an invaluable member of Trinity’s coaching staff for many years, and she has developed a network of friends in the Trinity community,” said King. “I appreciate her leadership in developing both the track and cross country programs over the years, and we will strive to exceed the high expectations she has placed on these teams.”

Prior to coming to Trinity, Breuer was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Tennessee, before becoming Hanover (IN) College’s head coach in cross country. She later served as an assistant coach at Trinity, prior to moving up to the head coaching position in 2000.
