MAITLIN RAYCROFT OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior right-handed pitcher from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 9 through Sunday, April 15.
Raycroft tossed a three-hit shutout on the road in a 4-0 victory against Southwestern. She struck out seven and did not walk a batter. She also pitched three innings in the Bulldogs' first win of the four-game sweep. In her two starts, she struck out nine, walked three and did not allow an earned run.
For the season, Raycroft is 15-0 in 20 appearances with a league-leading 0.96 ERA. She also leads the conference in strikeouts (106) and shutouts (five) and second in complete games (10), games started (16) and strikeouts per game (8.46).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity pitched the Tigers to victory in the opening game of Wednesday's doubleheader against NAIA Our Lady of the Lake University. Holbrook scattered six hits over 6.0 innings, allowing just one run and striking out a pair of batters in the 5-1 victory for the Tigers.
