LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - University of Dallas freshman post Seana Stoia has been selected as SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend.

SEANA STOIA OF
THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman post from
Tulsa, Okla., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 2nd
through Sunday, December 8th.
Stoia averaged 14.6 points per game and 6.3
rebounds this week while posting a double-double to lead the
Crusaders to a 3-0 weekend.
She shot 75% from the floor (12-16) and was a perfect 20-for-20
from the free throw line.
Stoia scored 11 points in her first outing against
Dallas Christian and was perfect shooting wise, shooting 3-for-3
from the field and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She added four
rebounds, an assist, and a steal in 20 minutes played off the
bench.
Later that week against Arlington Baptist, Stoia
asserted herself in the post, scoring a game-high 23 points on
6-of-9 shooting while getting to the free throw line 11 times and
coverting on all 11 attempts. She picked up her first double-double
of her career with 11 boards and added a block, steal, and
assist.
She finished her weekend with 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting, four
rebounds, and two assists in a four point win over Millsaps.
Stoia currently is second in the conference in
free throw percentage at 95.7% (22-for-23) and is averaging 10.4
points/game on 68% shooting from the field.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Courtney
Tyus of Colorado College nearly recorded a triple double
with 10 rebounds, nine points and nine assists during an 86-69 loss
to Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night. Sophomore guard Kelsie Jackson of
Schreiner the Mountaineers with 20 points, eight rebounds
and two steals in the road victory over Huston-Tillotson. Junior forward Annie Bourne of
Southwestern posted 16 points, shooting 50% from the floor
(6-12) and going perfect from three point range and the free throw
line (1-1, 3-3). She was the leading scorer for SU and also led in
rebounds with 13, posting her third consecutive double-double.
Senior forwrard Libby
Kruse of Trinity averaged 8.7 points/game and 11.3
rebounds/game over the week, as well as tallying a team-best 13
assists. She hit 10-27 (37%) from the field for the week.
Austin College,
Centenary, and
Texas Lutheran
were idle this past week.
