BECKY LUETJEN
OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior
forward from Lake Oswego, Ore., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, January 9 through
Sunday, January 15.
Luetjen started in both games last week as Colorado
College went 1-1 during conference play. Leading the team scoring
35 points to average 17.5 points a game and shot 40.0 percent from
the floor during the week. Luetjen had a team-high
19 rebounds to average 9.5 rebounds a game to lead the team on
defense. The senior also led the team with seven assists, seven
steals and four blocks over two games. In the first game of the
week, Luetjen led the team scoring a season-high
28 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for her seventh
double-double of the season against Centre College.
Luetjen also led the team tying her career-high
five steals and had a team-high four assists and two blocks against
the Colonels. In the final game of the week, she had a team-high
nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals against
Sewanee. Luetjen also chipped in scoring seven
points in the Tigers’ win over Sewanee. For the week
Luetjen averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5
assists, 3.5 steals and two blocks per contest.
