Texas Lutheran Takes Early Lead In Race For 2025-26 SCAC Presidents' Trophy

SUWANEE, Ga. -- Texas Lutheran earned its first men's soccer title since 2019 and finished no worse than third in five of the league's six contested fall championships as the Bulldogs established an early lead in the race for the 2025-26 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Presidents' Trophy. In addition to the program's second-ever men's soccer tournament title, Texas Lutheran finished second at the women's cross country championship and was runner-up at the league's inaugural SCAC Football Championship this past weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Bulldog men took third at the men's cross country championship and the women's soccer team earned a third-place tie after dropping its semifinal match at the conference tournament in Round Rock, Texas.

At the completion of fall championship play, the TLU Bulldogs have accumulated 247.5 total points in the all-sports standings and sit 27.5 points clear of Colorado College, who has 220 points. The CC Tigers earned conference titles in three of the four sports it competed in this fall, including the program's seventh straight men's cross country and fifth straight women's cross country titles. Just this past weekend, the Colorado College volleyball team earned the program's seventh conference title and first since 2020-21.

Fueled by a runner-up finish in men's cross country - the program's highest-ever finish at the event - and a tie for third in volleyball, the University of St. Thomas is in third in the Presidents' Trophy race with 190 points. McMurry University, which earned fall championships in both women's soccer and football - is in fourth with 180 points.
