LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Two of the league's four men's lacrosse teams were in action this past week, with Southwestern posting the lone victory.

The Pirates (3-2) went on the road, dropping a 10-7 decision to Carthage on Friday before bouncing back with a 13-4 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday. SU surrendered the final four goals of the game in the loss to Carthage. Nick Doxey led the Pirates with three points, scoring two goals and an assist. Matt Caldwell added another pair of goals for Southwestern. Blake Sitterly had eight saves for the Pirates, facing 18 shots. Hudson Bearden won 13 of 21 face-off opportunities. On Sunday against Milwaukee School of Engineering, Southwestern got the scoring started on a very windy afternoon by netting three goals in the first and would continue its offensive attack by scoring three more in the second. After MSOE made it 6-3 heading into the third stanza, the Pirates scored seven unanswered goals to put the match away. Zac Asbury led the SU attack with three goals and three assists for six points, bringing his career total to 225 to become the men's lacrosse program's all-time career points leader. Caldwell and Doxey had two goals each, and Sitterly went all 60 minutes in net, allowiing four goals while making 14 saves. Bearden paced with five ground balls.

The Centenary (1-5) men fell by a score of 21-7 at Huntingdon (Ala.) College on Friday night in a non-conference match. After scoring a pair of goals within a span of 12 seconds to make it a 5-4 game, the Hawks scored the next seven to put the game away. Jordan Cook paced the Gents with three goals while John Mark Waniewski finished with two. Centenary goalkeeper Thomas Siskron played all 60 minutes and collected 14 saves and now has 94 saves this season. Kyle Comi led the Gents in ground balls with six.
