LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After a 4-1 week, the Texas Lutheran softball team received a two-spot bump to No. 4 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 for NCAA Division III.
The NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.
The Bulldogs posted wins over Western Conn. State, Central (IA), Piedmont and Claremont-Mudd -Scripps. Their lone loss came to Trine which snapped their 46 game regular-season winning streak.
The TLU bats are led by senior first baseman Taylor Yancey who posts a .453 batting average, a .642 slugging percentage, a .482 OBP and 24 hits, all top five in the SCAC. One of the league's top pitchers, senior Taylor Grissom posts a 0.78 ERA and a perfect 6-0 win/loss record.
The Bulldogs will face Schreiner University this weekend.
