LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The top two seeds for the 2013 SCAC Women's Basketball tournament are set as the Trinity University Tigers and the Southwestern University Pirates will be seeded first and second, respectively. Trinity completed its regular season sweep of the Pirates with two wins last week.

averaged 10 points, eight rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.
Christina Kime handed out a season high nine assists in the victory
over the Crusaders on Saturday.
Centenary posted a 71-57 win at Colorado College on
Saturday evening to secure a 1-1 record on the week. Ladies’
freshman Briana Edwards averaged a double-double in the two
contests with 11.5 points and 13.5 rebounds. The Shreveport, La.,
native recorded her team best, sixth double-double of the season in
Centenary’s victory over the Tigers with 18 points and 16
rebounds. Vashni Sharp-Moore averaged double figures in scoring
with 12.2 points to lead the Ladies in scoring. The Shreveport,
La., product tallied 14 points on Friday evening and followed with

Saturday, Feb. 16 against Austin College. In addition to the
contest the Ladies will host their “Pink Game” with
free admission to any fan that wears pink to the Gold
Dome.
Colorado College played its final home games of the season
last weekend against Centenary College. The Tigers split games over
the weekend beating the Ladies, 56-48, on Friday, but falling to
them, 71-57, on Saturday. Senior Kalli Kemling led the team during
the week averaging 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds a game, while
senior Marissa Gradoz averaged 12.0 points and nine rebounds a game
to aid the team. Kemling led CC in its win with a career-high 16

of her career. Sophomore Courtney Tyus and Kemling led the team
offensively on Saturday with 14 points apiece. Colorado College
returns to the road to close out the regular season at Trinity
University on Feb. 15 and Southwestern University on Feb.
17.
Dallas (10-12, 4-9 SCAC) went 1-1 on the week in a pair of
conference home games versus Austin College. Backed by Kylie
Yoshimura's game-high 26 points, the Crusaders trekked to a 55-47
victory on Wednesday evening at the Maher Athletic Center. She
proceeded to drop a game-high 34 points in Saturday afternoon's
affair, but head coach Jina Johansen's squad fell 66-59 to the
'Roos. Dallas and Yoshimura will celebrate Senior Night on Monday
versus Arlington Baptist College (5:30 PM), before hitting the road
for two road contests -- Southwestern University (Friday, 6:00
p.m.); Trinity University (Saturday, 4:00 p.m.).
Southwestern dropped two contests to first
place Trinity in the second to last week of SCAC action. Wednesday
in San Antonio Southwestern's Annie Bourne had a huge night but the
Pirates fell short in the end. Bourne posted 23 points and 22
rebounds in the loss. SU took an early lead in the first half and
held on until halftime, but the Tigers came back strong in the
second half to take the lead and never gave it up. It was a similar
story on Saturday in Georgetown. Southwestern led the entire game
until less than 10 minutes to play in the second half and once they
took the lead they never relinquished it, giving SU the 101-89
loss. The Pirates remain in second place with a 10-2 SCAC record
and are 16-6 overall. They close out regular-season conference play
at home this weekend, facing the University of Dallas on Friday
night and Colorado College on Sunday.
Trinity swept a pair of games against Southwestern this
week, winning once at home and once on the road to sweep the
regular season series. The Tigers had to rally from double-digit
deficits in both games to earn the wins, which pushed the
team’s winning streak to 13 consecutive games. Trinity is now
19-4 overall and 13-0 in SCAC play. The two wins over second-place
Southwestern also locked up the SCAC Tournament top seed for the
Tigers, who have not been a number one seed since 2009. On
Saturday, Trinity topped the century mark for the second time this
season, and for the first time in regulation. The Tigers lost
114-109 in double-overtime at La Verne in December. Trinity will
complete its regular season schedule this weekend, facing off
against Colorado College and Dallas on Friday and Saturday. The
Tigers have beaten both teams twice this season, sweeping games at
home and on the road.
