SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Members of Trinity's Sports Medicine staff participated in the Hero-thon Fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, staffing one of various first-aid stations on the course.
The Hero-thon Half-Marathon was held on Sunday, January 27, and was the inaugural race for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in San Antonio.
From the Hero-thon Web site: "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families."
Trinity's Head Athletic Trainer Marc Powell was in attendance with several members of the Tiger Sports Medicine staff. Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer Calli Perry joined Powell along with student trainers Stefanie Schutz, Salome Wilfred, Sofia Bacon, Kristen Gill, Tori Copenhaver, Jenni Epperson, and Brie Kirchoff.
