SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity University, the defending Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball champions, received preseason national recognition from DIII News.
The Tigers are ranked 22nd in the DIII News preseason top-25 poll. Trinity, which went 21-9 last year en route to the school's sixth SCAC championship, was the only SCAC team featured in the poll.
Last year, the Tigers beat Centre College, 61-50, in the SCAC championship game to earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
Trinity then upset 10th-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor on the road, 68-66, in the NCAA tournament first round before dropping a 63-54 decision to 7th-ranked Whitworth in the second round.
