SAN ANTONIO, Texas
- The Trinity University women won their second straight SCAC Tennis Championship and the 17th title in program history with Sunday morning's 8-1 victory over Southwestern UniversityOfficial Tournament Website

The third-place match between Colorado College and Austin College, which started later Sunday afternoon, was not completed because of time constraints in place due to travel for Colorado College. Both teams will share third-place.

Colorado College had reached the consolation match after defeating Centenary College, 5-0, earlier in the day.

Trinity swept the doubles matches to start the title match on Saturday evening, as the two teams attempted to finish off the SCAC Championship before rain hit the San Antonio area. The Tigers actually led 4-0 when play was suspended until Sunday.

Gabrielle Roe clinched the match at No. 3 singles for the Tigers, winning 6-2, 6-1 to make it 5-0 at the time.  Roe improved her singles record to a team-best 12-9 this season.

Thavindra Ekanayake won 6-1, 6-0 at line one singles, and teamed with Kylie Hornbeck for an 8-1 win at the top line of doubles as well. Hornbeck lost a hard-fought 6-7 (7-10), 6-3, 7-10 match at No. 2 singles for Southwestern's lone team point of the match.

Caroline White and Kathleen Lundquist won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, while Kristy Hamilton and Stephanie Williamson took an 8-2 win at line three. Hamilton (6-0, 6-1), Williamson (6-1, 6-3), and Lundquist (6-3, 6-0) each also earned singles points for the Tigers.

Head Coach Jacob McMindes led the team to the conference title in his first season in charge of the Tiger women's team, after previously serving as a Trinity tennis assistant coach. The Tigers also earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs, and will find out the matchups in early May.
