WINNECONNE, Wisc. - The Centre College women placed 31st and the Rhodes College women were just four points back and finished in 32nd place at the 2011 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at run at the Lake Breeze Golf Course. Centre received top 180 finishes from senior Bekah Rehkamp (156th - 22:38.68), and first-year runners Ashley El Rady (165th - 22:41.92) and Hannah Ellis (180th - 22:49.67) to squeak past Rhodes for 31st place.

Rhodes was paced by junior Maddie Harrigan, who finished 98th overall in a time of 22:17.63.

Trinity University was represented by two individuals, Rosemary Steup and Maddie Murphy, the 2011 SCAC Runner-of-the-Year. The duo, running in the national meet for the second consecutive year, posted the best finishes by any SCAC runners. 

Steup ran the 6K event in 22:07.19 and finished 74th while Murphy clocked in at 22:12.05 and finished 82nd. There were 277 runners competing in the event.

Washington (Mo.) University placed four runners in the top-23 finishes to win the team championship. It was the first national title for Washington University, which totaled a team score of 70 points.

Middlebury College (Vt.) came in second place with 111 points, while Williams College (Mass.) took third with 153. Middlebury College outscored second-place Washington University, 185-193, to win last year's meet.
