LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis season enters its final week of action following a week where Austin College, Colorado College, Southwestern, and Texas Lutheran all took the court against conference opponents. 

No. 29 Southwestern (13-4) picked up three 9-0 victories last week, downing Colorado College (5-9) on Thursday, Texas Lutheran on Friday and Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday. The Pirates’ doubles teams were dominant, holding their opponents to four points or less in all nine matches played. No. 2 singles Hunter Bajoit gave up just two points, pulling out a pair of 6-0, 6-1 victories over opponents from Colorado College and Texas Lutheran while also picking up a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Robert Galligan of UMHB. No. 4 Max Pearson was also impressive, earning two 6-0, 6-0 victories. Against Colorado College, No. 1 Alexis Dimanche fell behind early against Noah Foreman, but battled back to take the match 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.

Austin College (6-6) swept conference opponents over the weekend, defeating Colorado College and Texas Lutheran, 8-1 and 5-0, respectively. The Roos won all six of their doubles matches, including a pair of 8-6 wins at lines one and three against Colorado College. CC’s Noah Foreman took the only point of the match for the Tigers, defeating Josh Granberry 7-6 (2), 6-2 at No. 1 singles. The Roos’ No. 3 Andreas Padilla and No. 5 Calum Robe each managed three set victories over opponents from CC while No. 2 Brett O'Brien, No. 4 Kenneth Hardy and No. 6 Preston Spivey won in straight-sets. Against TLU, Padilla clinched the match in a three-set victory over Nick Roccaforte at line three.

No. 11 Trinity (12-9) had its five-match win streak snapped on Friday, falling to No. 20 Gustavus Adolphus, 6-3, before bouncing back the following day to take down No. 13 Pomona-Pitzer, 5-4. On the week, No. 1 doubles Jordan Pitts/Wilson Lambeth and No. 3 Christian Settles/Wilson Hamilton went 2-0 against opponents, including an 8-7 (7-5) victory for Pitts/Lambeth over third-ranked Patrick Whaling/Chase Johnson of Gustavus Adolphus. In singles-play, Lambeth extended his winning streak to nine matches, picking up victories over 24th-ranked Chase Johnson of Gustavus Adolphus 6-3, 6-4 at line two and Pomona-Pitzer's 10th-ranked Jed Kronenberg 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 at line one. Cameron Krimbill clinched the Pomona-Pitzer match for the Tigers, battling through three very long sets against Octave De Giacomoni to win 7-6 (7-1), 5-7, 7-5 at line three.

Prior to its defeat at Southwestern, Texas Lutheran (4-8) dropped a 9-0 decision to Concordia (Tex.) on Thursday.

In the final week of the regular season, every SCAC men’s tennis squads will be in action and each will play at least one conference opponent as teams make their final preparation before the SCAC Tennis Championships, which are scheduled for April 19-21.
