TLU's Dydalewicz, Southwestern's Bourne Named to D3hoops.com All-South Region Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Taylor Dydalewicz of Texas Lutheran University, and the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Annie Bourne of Southwestern University, were each named to the D3hoops.com All-South Region Team on Monday morning. FULL RELEASE

Dydalewicz, a junior forward from Dripping Springs, Texas, earned second team honors from D3hoops. She was a three-time SCAC Player-of-the-Week selection during the regular season while leading Texas Lutheran to the regular season title..

Dydalewicz led the league in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game, and also averaged 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest. She set Texas Lutheran's Division III single-game scoring record with 36 points at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Nov. 22.

Not only a prolific scorer, the junior has been equally efficient – and from every area of the floor. Dydalewicz was ranked eighth in the league in field goal percentage (43.8 percent), third in three-point field goal percentage (39.1 percent) and fourth in free throw percentage (79.5 percent).

Bourne, a senior from Dallas, Texas, earned third team honors for her tremendous performance this past season. Bourne was the second student-athlete from Southwestern in the last three years to earn SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors as former teammate Chelsea Leader won a share of the award in 2012-13. Her efforts led the Pirates to their first SCAC regular season title since 1996-97 and their first conference tournament victory as they moved on to the NCAA Tournament.

Bourne finished her career as the SCAC's all-time leading rebounder with 1,168. Her season average of 12.7 rebounds per game led the conference and currently ranks 14th in all of Division III and her 356 total rebounds are the most in a single-season in league history. She is also seventh in the conference in blocks with 21.

Bourne's inside presence helped the Pirates lead the league in rebounding margin (+3.2), including an amazing +7.1 differential in conference games. A player has grabbed 21+ rebounds 22 different times in the history of SCAC women's basketball and Bourne has four of those performances.
