CHASE SCHOLZ AND DANIEL BECKLES OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY (TEXAS), have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 24 through Sunday, March 2. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 5

Scholz, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, and Beckles, a junior from Round Rock, Texas, went 2-0 in a pair of flight two matchups to help lead the Tornados to a 2-0 week. In a 7-0 win over Fernando Andrade and Marcus Torres of Mary Hardin-Baylor, the duo dominated with a 6-1 triumph. They then claimed a 6-2 SCAC victory against Khoen Gregory and Evan Pezirtzoglou of McMurry, where the Tornados won 6-1.  

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Rocco Mendez and sophomore Kishan Kersten of Trinity led the 11th-ranked Tiger men's tennis team to a pair of 7-0 victories on Sunday, sweeping both McMurry and East Texas Baptist. Mendez and Kersten opened the day with a 6-3 win at line one doubles to complete the doubles sweep over McMurry, then kicked off the match against ETBU with a 6-2 win at line one that led to another doubles sweep. The Trinity doubles partners are now 7-2 this season and have won three consecutive matches. Junior Perry Guidry and junior Sergio Munoz of Ozarks defeated LeTourneau's Zach Farris and Fernando Vazquez 6-3 at the No. 1 position on Saturday. Junior Cash Herrera and junior Eric Moninger of Texas Lutheran picked up a 6-1 victory over their opponents from Austin College in No. 1 doubles on Saturday.
