ROCCO MENDEZ AND KISHAN KERSTEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Men’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, February 10 through Sunday, February 16. SCAC Men's Tennis Weekly Report - Week 3
Mendez, a first-year from Las Vegas, Nev., and Kersten, a sophomore from Plano, Texas, clinched the doubles point for #11 Trinity, kicking off what turned into a 7-0 victory over Concordia University (Texas) on Saturday afternoon. Kersten and Mendez won 6-2 at line one doubles to clinch the doubles point. The Tigers went on to complete the doubles sweep and then sweep all six singles matches to complete the 7-0 shutout.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Bernie Clemente and junior Parth Patel of Southwestern went 1-1 on the weekend, picking up a victory at No. 2 doubles against the duo from #30 Grinnell, 6-3, on Saturday. The next day, the pair dropped a hard-fought 7-6 decision to Talman Ramsey and Gil Weston from 15th-ranked Sewanee.
