PIETER BLANK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from The Hague, The Netherlands has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week from Monday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 8th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 6)
Blank led 25th-ranked Trinity to a pair of SCAC shutout victories at home last weekend, defeating Dallas 3-0 on Friday, and handing Austin its first SCAC loss with a 4-0 win on Sunday. Blank and the Tiger defense held the two teams to two total shots in the two games - only one of which was a shot on goal. Led by Blank, Trinity kept Dallas to just two attempts on Friday, and Blank also came up and scored the second goal of the game to cushion the team’s lead. On Sunday, Blank and the Tigers limited Austin to zero shots in the weekend finale.

Senior goalkeeper Brendan Prather of Southwestern led the Pirates to a pair of key shutout victories on the road last weekend in SCAC action On Friday, Prather racked up four saves in a 1-0 win over St. Thomas and then followed that up with six more saves in a 2-0 win over Centenary on Sunday. In net, Prather has now led Southwestern to six shutouts on the year and is currently third in the SCAC in goals-against average (0.84) and save percentage (.791) and fourth in the league with 34 total saves.
