Angela Baltzell, Trinity University, Softball - Character & Community

ANGELA BALTZELL OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore infielder on the softball team from Antioch, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning February 12.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.



So far in their 2024 season, Angela has started every game at shortstop for the Tigers. She is also hitting .429, including a three-hit performance in the team’s season opener against Concordia. 

To go along with her stellar performance on the field, Angela is heavily involved on campus and in the city of San Antonio. She serves as a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as YoungLife where she engages with other students on Trinity’s campus to build community and talk about what it looks like to be a Christian Student-Athlete.

In her community, Angela is a University Ministry intern with the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio which spreads the word to various campuses around the city. She is also a volunteer with the Christian Assistance Ministry (CAM). With CAM, Angela has helped repair damages to homes that were involved in a fire, as well as serve the homeless of San Antonio.

This spring, Angela will look to help lead her team to another SCAC tournament appearancewith the goal of capturing an SCAC title.
