The Esports Showdown team title will be awarded based on the total number of points accumulated from tournament play. Points are awarded to teams based on team finish in each of the five gaming competitions. First place in any event is worth four points and second place teams will earn three points. Teams competing in the consolation final will receive two points for a third-place finish and one point for fourth place. Colorado College is the defending team champion.

On Saturday, individual game champions were crowned in two games, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate where Trinity continued its dominance in the event by earning the program its fifth straight title. This year, however, the Texas Tigers had to battle back from the once-beaten bracket after dropping a 5-0 decision to Colorado College in the semifinals. Trinity responded to its first team loss in the event with a 3-0 victory over Concordia (Texas) and entered the championship round needing two victories to retain its team title. The Texas Tigers did just that - picking up a 1-0 victory in the opener to force a winner-take-all match where Trinity prevailed 3-0 over the CC Tigers. Concordia (Texas) finished in third place at the conclusion of the final day double elimination bracket with Austin College taking fourth.

The Rocket League competition closed out Saturday's full day of activity as Colorado College won its fourth straight team championship in the event, picking up this year's title with a 4-1 victory over St. Thomas (Texas) in the gold medal match. Schreiner placed third in the double-elimination bracket and McMurry was fourth.

Apex Legends opened Saturday's competition as seven teams competed in first-round play. Defending champion Schreiner took a commanding lead with 111 points heading into tomorrow's championship round. Hendrix is currently in second with 69 points while Colorado College is in third with 58 points. McMurry, the top team from the regular season and Austin College are tied for fourth with 53 points. St. Thomas is in sixth with 52 points and Concordia (Texas) rounds out the standings with 32 points.

Chalk held in the Valorant competition as top-seeded Colorado College and second-seeded Concordia (Texas) will compete in the game's championship final. Colorado College defeated No. 4 Schreiner, 2-0, and Concordia (Texas) knocked off No. 3 Southwestern, 2-1, in the semifinals to reach the championship final. CC is the defending champion in the event while Concordia took bronze a year ago. The Mountaineers and the Pirates will meet up in the consolation final.

Championship competition continues on Sunday as the final day opens with the conclusion of the Valorant competition, including the title match at 9 am. CT. Apex Legends wraps up the 2024 SCAC Showdown at 1:30 pm with the awards ceremony to follow, scheduled for 2:45 pm. Sunday's championship Valorant matche will be streamed through the SCAC's Twitch account (https://www.twitch.tv/SCAC_ESPORTS) with the APEX action viewable on the Schreiner YouTube account (https://www.youtube.com/@SchreinerEsports/streams).
