No. 16 Trinity Women's Tennis Defeated By Emory In NCAA Third Round

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- No. 16 Tiger Women's Tennis comes up short against No. 5 Emory University on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers (16-5) dropped their third-round match 1-5. Trinity had early momentum in doubles as Rosabella Andrade and Ellie Hughes took the No. 3 line 8-3. However, Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim dropped their match in No. 1 doubles 3-8 while Cate Cushing and Trinity Levy suffered the same fate at the No. 2 line.
 
In singles, Hughes lost in No. 2 singles 0-6, 0-2 and Cushing fell in the sixth line of singles 2-6, 1-6. In No. 4 singles, Kim was defeated 2-6, 4-6 and Emory clinched the match. 
 
Up Next - Individual Championships
 
Hill and Kim will compete in the doubles bracket of the NCAA Championships. Hill will also have a shot to win the singles title. Both events will take place on May 25-27 in St. Louis, Missouri.
