SCAC Announces 2024 Women's Tennis All-Tournament Team

SUWANEE, Ga. – Following Trinity University’s 5-1 victory over Southwestern University for the conference crown at the end of last month, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2024 SCAC Women's Tennis All-Tournament team earlier this week. Complete Release

The championship is the 26th overall for the Trinity women's tennis program, the third-most conference crowns by one program in SCAC history, trailing only the Trinity men's tennis program, which vies for its 28th immediately following the awards ceremony and the 27 by the Trintiy women’s soccer program.

Tournament Champion Trinity led the way with six different Tigers earning All-Tournament accolades. Cate Cushing is being honored for the fourth consecutive year, this year being named to the team for her play at both No. 6 singles and No. 2 doubles. Her doubles partner Trinity Levy was elected to the team for the second consecutive year, also earning All-Tournament accolades at No. 3 singles. The Tigers’ Ruth Hill secured All-Tournament honors for the third-straight year and second consecutive tournament at the top doubles spot. Ellie Hughes is appearing on the team for the third-straight year after securing her spot this year at No. 3 doubles. Her doubles partner Rosabella Andrade is making her debut on the team. Rounding out the All-Tournament TU Tiger selections is Olivia Kim who is not a three-time honoree, this year making the team at No. 3 singles.

Southwestern’s Syndey Wahl was named to the team for the third-straight year after posting a perfect 1-0 record at the No. 4 singles line. Erika Synoski returns to the team for the second straight year at doubles, this year elevated to the top doubles line after posting a perfect 3-0 record with her partner Mary Young. For Young, 2024 marks her debut on the All-Tournament Team.

Other student-athletes returning to the All-Tournament Tennis squad include Colorado College’s Christina Heffron (No. 3 Singles) and Gigi Jensen (No. 5 Singles) and St. Thomas’ Anamaria Gonzalez (No. 1 Doubles) and Ella Mullins (No. 3 Singles) who are all making their second appearance on the team.

*Any player (or doubles team) that goes through the conference tournament undefeated is named to the all-tournament team automatically. If no one player or team goes undefeated using the above criteria, then the next best record at that position will be named to the all-tournament team. Coaches may also nominate a player for the all-tournament team.
